"Parallel Twister" Anyone?

(ArcKnight) Hello readers! Today,I'm going to feature an interesting card that caught my eye.

I present to you,"Parallel Twister" from "Premium Pack 17"(Yes,your favorite pack because of Number 95!)

A new Whirlwind for your favorite deck!

Parallel Twister
Normal Spell Card
Send 1 other Spell/Trap Card you control to the Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it.

Review

-Undoubtedly,a very straightforward card.By just sending an underused Spell/Trap card you control, you are granted to destroy any card you wish on the field!

Q:Now,how can it benefit my strategy?

-First,its effect is already devastating eliminating different threats you may encounter especially cards that can shut down different decks(Vanity's Emptiness,Skill Drain,Mistake,Etc.) There are several ways to maximize the usability of this card and today,we are going to share our menu for some of the most valuable decks that can treasure this hidden gem from PP17!

A: Okay, you got my attention and I like it! Now,where's the menu because I'm getting hungry?

Okay,Okay .Here we go sir/ma'am!

Here's our menu for today! (Ring the Bells)

1.Volcanics

First on our bucket list are "Volcanics".One thing I noticed when it comes to playing this deck was that they need a way to send the new "Blaze Accelerator Reload" to trigger its powerful (3) effect. Now,with "Parallel Twister",reloading your fire gun has never been easier than before!

By sending their themed trap card to the graveyard by "Parallel Twister",you can search "Volcanic Scattershot" or "Volcanic Shell" straight from your deck and also have the opportunity to destroy an unwanted card on the field. With "Magic Planter" in your main deck ,you have a lot of ways to dump this card to your graveyard to unleash Reload's powerful effect!

Also,"Volcanics" main a myriad of Continous Spell/Trap Cards like "Fiendish Chain" ,"Call of the Haunted" or even "Vanity's Emptiness".In other words, you can use "Parallel  Twister's" effect for free using these cards.

2. Qliphort

Isn't it cool to use "Saqlifice" as a Sacrifice? With "Parallel Twister",you can accelerate the search effect of "Saqlifice" and at the same time, destroy a card on the field!

Speaking of free materials for our twin twisters, you can also use your pendulum scales! Absolutely right! Since pendulum monsters are treated as spell cards when placed in the pendulum zone, they can be used to destroy cards!

Cards such as "Masked Hero Dark Law","Mistake",and "Thunderking RaiOh! can definitely slow down this deck but with the help of our new buddy, you can alleviate this weakness.

3.Fluffals

Definitely worth mentioning here."Crossover Souls" will release a number of support cards for them and one of them can be a new "Fluffal" monster and yes,we love to search our card with our "Toy Vendor"!

With "Parallel Twister",you can send you "Toy Vendor" immediately after you used its effect to search your "Edge Imp Sabres" or even any "Fluffal" monster you desire!

In other words, you can get your combo and your materials for swarming your "Frightfurs" to beat your opponent for an otk.In addition,"Parallel Twister" can destroy unnecessary backrows your opponent might use to ruin your strategy.

In case you do not have "Toy Vendor" ready, you can use your excess "Polymerization" and turn them into a card removal.

Conclusion:
This pretty wraps up everything.Hopefully, this card can greatly help your deck's strategy.Nothing more to say so "Parallel Twister" anyone?

Rebirth of the Goddess-"The Nekroz of Sophia" + DT Archetypes Origin Trivia

(ArcKnight) Hey,I'm back in the scene and we've got some news to deliver from the upcoming booster pack "Crossover Souls(CROS)".

First,we have a new "Nekroz" monster in the form of "Sophia,Goddess of Rebirth".
Looks like the final boss has arrived after the "Nekroz Cycle"!

Behold to the powerful "Nekroz of Sophia"!!!

Nekroz of Sophia
[Spellcaster-Type ATK 3600 / DEF 3400 ]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any “Nekroz” Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned from your hand by using 3 monsters with different Types you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways.
(1) During either player’s Main Phase 1: You can discard both this card and 1 “Nekroz” Spell Card; during this Phase, your opponent cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck.
(2) When this card is Ritual Summoned: You can banish all other cards on the field and in both Graveyards. During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters.

Review
First off,you will notice that it requires 3 different monster cards with various types on the field to Ritual summon this card. That is,if the total levels of those monsters are 11 or more.Well,it wouldn't be hard for "Nekroz" users to fulfill this condition provided that they can summon many monsters in a single turn.Sadly, you cannot use her devastating effect the turn you summon those three monsters because if you look at the final condition on her (2) effect,to quote, " During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters.".In other words, you can only banish cards on your following turn if you manage to maintain at least three monsters on the field.

Secondly, her first effect seems to be the more useful part of "Sophia".It prevents massive pendulum summons,Synchro summons,Xyz Summons and Fusion summons so your opponent will only have a field full of defenseless tuner or same level monsters.(Not unless it's Yosenju).

To sum up,I think Konami is really good in digging with the lore and I believe this card can be useful in the future though not as useful with her fellow "Nekroz" monsters such as "Nekroz of Trishula" and "Nekroz of Brionac".

We also have the list of the connectivity of "Sephira" towards other DT Archetypes.Looks like each member has an Equivalent card.

Yugioh.Wikia.com

Now we have an idea on what's in and what's left on the members of our favorite DT Archetypes!

More info on our next articles so keep tuning in readers!

(CROS) More "Frightfuring" than ever!-featuring "Frightfur Leo" from "Crossover Souls(CROS)

(ArcKnight) Looks like we have a new "Frightfur" monster and guess what,it's our themed "Volcasaurus" for our lovely and vicious "Fluffals"!

Prepare yourselves for "Frightfur Lio"!

Frightfur Leo
Dark/Fiend/7*/ATK2400/DEF2000 - Fusion
“Edge Imp Saw” + 1 “Fluffal” monster
This card must be Fusion Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only activate the effect of “Frightfur Leo” once per turn. During the turn you activate this card’s effect, this card cannot attack directly.
(1) You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy that opponent’s monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster’s original ATK.

Seeing his effect confirms the existence of "Edge Imp Saw" in CROS.

Review:
  1. His effect is pretty straightforward. The great thing about this card is that you can steal games with his "Burn Effect" after you destroy a monster(Let us say you destroy your opponent's "Number 95:Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter" and inflict a massive 4000 damage!)
  2. Stat-wise,it is pretty standard in Fusion monster. It is also the first level 7 "Frightfur" to be revealed and based on the Mat presented on the official site,we will receive 2 more fusion monster in CROS and "Fluffal Sheep"
Take a look at this cool mat courtesy of Konami.....

Courtesy:http://www.yugioh-card.com/japan/event/cros/images/field.jpg

If you look closer,we can speculate that a "Frightfur" that resembles "Fluffal Sheep" is present as well as another "Fluffal Bear" look a like "Frightfur Fusion.

It is very timely for Konami to release Sheep because of this year's part animal which is "Sheep"

Here's an anime art and effect of "Frightfur Mad Chimaera" so you guys will have an idea of what might be the buffed effect of this card once released.

 Frightfur Mad Chimaera
Dark/Fiend/Fusion/8
2800/2000
3 "Frightfur" monsters
Must first be Fusion summoned and cannot be special summoned by other ways.If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon that opponent's monster to your side of the field. This card gains 300 ATK for each monster you control that was Special Summoned by this effect. When this card battles: You can activate this effect; your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Battle Phase.

What do you think of this new "Frightfur" fusion?
Pretty interesting! Hopefully they can also make it to competitive level once they are released.
Happy Dueling Everyone!

Stay Tune for more exciting updates and see you on RespectYGO's 1st Anniversary Tournament!

(CROS) Would you mind Losing a Turn?

(Kazuhiko) Hello there! Looks like we have a new trap card that can actually stun decks who are focused heavily on special summoning!

一回休み Ikkai Yasumi (Lose A Turn)
Continuous Trap Card
You can only activate this card if you control no Special Summoned monsters
(1) If a monster is Special Summoned: Its effects are negated until the end of this turn.
(2) If an Effect Monster is Special Summoned in Attack Position: Change it to Defense Position.

  1. It resembles the card "Re-Qliphort" when you read the effect and you know how deadly that card is in Qliphort.
  2. Basically,it's one of that "Stun" trap card that slows down opponent if your deck doesn't rely on special summoning.
  3. Decks that can benefit greatly(whom are not affected at all) are "Qliphort" ,"Yosenju","Stun","Monarch" etc.
From the looks of it,it is very possible that this card is a Normal Rare like Vanity's Emptiness or maybe in foiling(Super Rare/Secret Rare) just like Turn over soul.

What type of deck do you think you can use this card at your advantage?

(CROS) Blooms from the Melody Plains-Featuring "Bloom Diva, the Floral Melodious Saint"

(ArcKnight) We have some news regarding the new "Melodious" fusion monster!

Get ready for "Bloom Diva"!

Bloom Diva the Great Melodious Poet of Flowers
Level 6 LIGHT Fairy-Type Fusion Effect Monster
ATK 1000
DEF 2000
1 “Melodious Maestra” monster + 1 “Melodious” monster
(1) This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, and battle damage to you involving this card battling becomes 0.
(2): After damage calculation involving a battle of this card with an opponent’s Special Summoned monster: You can inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between the original ATK of this card and your opponent’s monster and destroy your opponent’s monster.

Source:Maxut

 Review:
  •  Before we get hype about this card, don't forget to take a short while reading the requirements of this card.As you notice,it requires a "Melodious Maestra" to be fusion summoned. That means to say,it's either you waste some resources to summon the high level Melodious Maestra or Crossover souls make a card that acts as a Melodious maestra just to summon this card.
  • It is  basically almost a combination of "Aria, the Melodious Diva" and "Elegy the Melodious Diva" when we notice her first effect. When she is on the field,it cannot be destroyed by battle nor by card effects and you take no damage involving battles between her and an opponent's monster.
  • The Artwork is pretty nice.
  • You can attack every special summoned monster your opponent controls without fear and deal heavy damage.
  • Again, the "Melodious Maestra" requirement is weird.

So what can you say? Do Re Mi?

Dragon Rulers: What Matter's most is Dark Matter

(ArcKnight) Wazzup! It's been a very very long while since i wrote an article here and since it's already 2015,my first article will feature the most sought after card in the premium pack 17!

No other than "Number 95:Galaxy Eyes-Dark Matter Dragon"!!!!!!!!!!

rOOAAArr!!!!!!!!-no.95

Number 95:Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon
DARK/Dragon/XYZ/Rank9
4000/0
Level 9 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Galaxy-EyesXyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can send 3 Dragon-Type monsters with different names from your Deck to the Graveyard; your opponentbanishes 3 monsters from their Deck. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase this turn.

Review:
-For those who are unaware how strong this card is,let me give you a short hint:Dragon Rulers.Yes,that's right, one of the DARKEST Era of yugioh along with Spellbooks where most of the players began shifting to other card games or worst, quit.Though quitting and shifting is not new to yugioh, still, this can be an unhealthy way of introducing the game especially to new players just coping up with their newly bought "Fluffal" decks.(Even the scariest scissor toys will get scared).

First, let's take a look on the cards that can help you summon this DARK creature!

The Galaxy Comrades!

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Dragon
LIGHT/Dragon/XYZ/Rank8
4000/3500
Level 8 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Galaxy-EyesXyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, except "Galaxy Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You cantarget up to 2 Equip Cards equipped to this card; attach them to this card as Xyz Materials. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.

*This is one of your go-to cards if you want removal before going into dark matter. You can also just xyz summon this card using a 2 material galaxy eyes dragon so bringing this card up won't be so hard.

Number 62:Galxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon
LIGHT/Dragon/XYZ/RANK8
4000/3000
Level 8 monsters
If this card attacks or is attacked, during damage calculation (in either player's turn): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card once per battle; this card gains ATK equal to the combined Ranksof all Xyz Monsters currently on the field x 200, during that damage calculation only. If this card in its owner's control is destroyed by your opponent's card effect while it has "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as an Xyz Material: You can Special Summon this card during your 2nd Standby Phase after activation and double its ATK. Any battle damage this card inflicts to your opponent is halved unless it has "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as an Xyz Material.

*This might be one of the easiest Galaxy eyes monster you can summon with just 2 MATERIALS!
and what's even better? it has 4000 attack and can even reach over 10,000 if all monsters on the field have rank 10s! (well im just hyping,it can be possible vs. Trains).

Number 107:Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon
LIGHT/Dragon/XYZ/Rank8
3000/2500
Level 8 monsters
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your Battle Phase: You candetach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effects of all otherface-up monsters currently on the field, also their ATK and DEFbecome their original ATK and DEF, and if you do any of these, during the Battle Phase this turn, each time an opponent's card effect resolves, this card gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase, also, it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn.

*Here's is your second option if your facing a pesky "Spirit Reaper" or a sudden "Aria, the Melodious Diva" is constantly singing on the stage. In other words,a useful 2 material rank 8 in case you don't have Prime photon.Overall,it is still a great card but in this type of deck(Im talking to dragon rulers),extra deck is an issue so we should be careful in choosing the best cards on our card pile composed of 15.

Tips:
You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Galaxy-Eyes"monster from your hand or Graveyard, except "Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon". You can only use this effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon" once per turn. If this card is in your Graveyard: You cantarget 1 "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you controlattach this card from your Graveyard to that monster as an Xyz Material. You can only use this effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon" once per Duel

  1. You can use this card's effect to send "Dragon Rulers" from your deck to your graveyard or send monsters to your graveyard for later fuel for the summon of "Dragon Rulers".You limit our Ravine? Well we have Walking Ravine 3.0
  2. This card can actually be also used in your "Hieratic" deck especially if your using your balls(Hieratic seals).
  3. You can use your "Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon" to revive your fallen Galaxy-Eyes monster as a loop with the help of "Kinka-Byo".
  4. This card can lead to a very fast OTK Machine(Even though it's not really a Machine-type,I prefer to call it an OTCK Machine) if you use its effect to attack TWICE resulting into 8000 damage.

So this is the Dark Matter Dragon.Does it matter?

Well I guess,It really does unfortunately...

Happy 2015!

-ArcKnight
