Tournament Report 7.8.2018 Featuring Stun Deck + Decklist

Hey Guys! I'm back and now, I'm blogging using my mobile phone which means I now gave a chance to update you with a new post at least once a week hopefully. Today, I'm gonna share a brief report on what happened on our last local OCG tournament in Philippines (PH).

As promised, I used a Stun deck but in contrast with my last post, I used a pure Stun Deck instead of "Light Meta Beat" for a sole reason of how diverse our meta is. Here's what happened:

Date: 7/8/18
Deck used: Pure Stun
Rounds: Swiss of 3 Rounds

Round 1 vs. Fluffal (WIN)
He chose to go first setting up a field of Felgrand. My hand consist of Inspect Boarder and one Phantom Knight Wings. Other cards are merely negation cards good only if I'm the first turn. I know that the weakness of Felgrand damage step so once we enter that step, Felgrand will unable to activate its effect. I waited for a second card that will buff my Inspector Boarder and another PK wings arrived plus Seal of Orichalcos which increases the stats of my boarder drastically and win from there. I couldn't remember what happened on game 2 but I was able to control the game with Imperial Order and beat him down.

Round 2 vs. Blackwing (Win)
My comeback match. I switch my strategy from all Light to mix because Blavkwings are all Dark. Good thing I have mirror force and storming mirror force to counter his synchros then game 3, I was able to destroy the new Blackwing Full Armored Master (The level 10 that is unaffected) by equipping moon mirror shield to my Inspect Boarder. Backed up by Thundetking Raioh, he can't search using Black Whirlwind plus I have Imperial Order and Dark Bribe to counter those Twin Twisters and Red Reboot. God Like haha!

Final Round vs. Kozmo (Win)

Thank god I mained 3 Dark Bribes so I have counter to Kozmojo. Game 2 is basically a win win as I baited Kozmo Dark Planet using Fossil Dyna and prevent his normal summon..Next turn, I have Inspector Boarder and Imperial Iron Wall. Ggwp.

Result: Champion

Decklist: Pure Stun
Total: 40
Monsters: 9
3 Inspector Boarder
3 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo
3 Thunderking Raioh
Spells: 10
3 Card of Demise
3 Pot of Duality
3 Pot of Desires
1 Seal of Orichalcos
Traps: 21
3 Mirror Force
3 Storming Mirror Force
3 Phantom Knight Wings
3 Phantom Knight Sword
3 Dark Bribe
2 Solemn Warning
2 Solemn Strike
2 Solemn Judgment

Side Deck:
3 Moon Mirror Shield
3 Dark Hole
3 Evenly Matched
1 Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring
1 Harpie's Feather Duster
1 Imperial Order
2 Imperial Iron Wall
1 Magic Deflector

Key Take-aways

  • Never use Pot of Desires twice/Thrice in this deck. 90% chance you'll lose. As we only have few monsters and we depend on our resources, you'll only use desires on first turn to gather resources but not use it late game. The goal of having 3 desires main is for consistency of drawing it first turn. You wouldn't want to activate it without Inspector boarder backing you up as well.
  • Don't overextend be greedy in using Card of Demise the turn you summon your monster especially if your traps can handle the opponent. Chances are you'll just draw monsters which you'll discard afterwards. Use your draw power wisely.
  • Dark Bribe is an MVP. It serves as your 3rd-5th Solemn Judgment. Who cares abour their draw if you'll negate a game changer like HFD or Dark Hole right?
  • I mained a lot of field wipes like Storming Mirror Force for floaters and Mirror Force. Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo also serve as a field wipe.
  • Seal of Orichalcos is something. Never underestimate the additional 500 atk and the ability to protect your weak monsters or prevent them from attacking you if you have 2 monsters with same stats.
That's it! I would like to upload the decklist photo but for some reasom Google Chrome mobile is not allowing me so I'll see if I could get the app version of blogger for smooth blogging experience. Still, I'm happy with the results and I lool forward to more tournament reports to be posted here in the future!

Til next Dice Roll!

Arcknight Signing off
