Official OCG April 1st 2021 List: No changes?

Hey RespectYGOers, Arcknight here and guess what, the official April 2021 OCG Forbidden & Limited list is finally here, just a few days after the TCG one. For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is:

Our reaction: Disappointing

Tempest Magician seriously? Like, the last time I remember it was used consistently is way back Spellbook Era which are ages ago. With meta full of Virtual World, Zoodiac, Eldlich, etc. duelists in OCG area expect almost similar list with TCG considering we've been seeing longer tops in OCG since we've got the cards first. This list disappoints as almost not affecting the meta at all. 

Limiting VFD does really nothing considering the fact that resolving one is all you need for Virtual World to control the next turn. This means that decks like Drytron, Eldlich and Zoodiac will stay for another format and are literally untouched. On a side note, we expect a rise in Pendulum Magician with semi-limiting of Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and reprint of Duelist Alliance in Prismatic Art Collection (PAC1). There will be a rise in the search of the 2nd Union Hangar considering the new master Rule making ABC a good rogue option. 

Allure of Darkness could help the new Abhyss in drawing their combo pieces as well as Thunder Dragons and Shaddols. Altergeist received a huge boost with that third Altergeist Meluseek making it a great contender this format. Firewall Dragon on semi is really nothing since people put 0-1 anyway after the new errata. I don't see anything game breaking if it goes back to 3 as well. 

Really, this list does nothing in solving this format's strongest decks or even weaken their strategy at all. What this list does is to bring back more decks in this diverse format making our meta pie charts more crowded.

Overall, I'd say this is something that people are not expecting but nonetheless, we have to move on with a change even if we won't even feel it. Putting No changes might sound more shocking than this to be honest as it has almost a similar effect. With the upcoming Dawn Of Majesty booster pack in April, there's a chance they release something that is meta impacting thus, the need for no major change.

 Right now, I'm excited for the new Gizmek cards and even the Suship archetype! Let's hope that we see more interesting cards and support cards that is meta defining and who knows, maybe this list will make more sense.
