How GOOD is the new "Voiceless Voice" theme in PHNI? | Archetype Discussion

Hello there! Arcknight here. I'm back with another article and this time, I'll feature the newest ritual theme in PHANTOM NIGHTMARE (PHNI) called "Voiceless Voice"! Does this archetype have what it takes to enter the competitive scene?

Let's find out!

Introduction:
"Voiceless Voice" also known as "Shusei/Shukusei" in OCG are cards related to the classic Yu-Gi-Oh! Ritual cards namely "Skull Guardian", "Novox's Prayer, "Saffira, Queen of Dragons", "Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended", and similar cards. The theme has cards that support LIGHT Warrior or Dragon ritual monsters and cards that provide negation and protection.

Card Discussion:

Let's discuss each of the 7 new cards!

Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice

A strong searcher for the archetype that is not an Ash magnet. When summoned, it places any "Voiceless Voice" continuous Spell/Trap from Deck to your field. This card leads to your one card combo which can land on an Omni negate and targeting/battle protection. By itself, it can treat itself as the entire material for the ritual summon of a LIGHT Warrior or Dragon ritual monster.

It is searchable by One for One and Diviner of the Herald. It can also revive itself when you ritual summon a LIGHT Warrior or Dragon ritual monster. It is almost a custom card and it doesn't have any xenophobic restrictions! 23 years is worth the wait I must say!

Put 3

Saffira, the Dragon Queen of the Voiceless Voice

Saffira'a humanoid form. It is part of your one card combo which is your go-to search from "Barrier of the Voiceless Voice". By itself, you can send 1 Ritual Spell card and optionally can add 1 LIGHT Warrior or Dragon ritual monster from your Deck to your hand which is a neat consistency piece.

You can also banish this card in your GY to ritual summon a LIGHT Warrior or Dragon ritual monster from your hand by tributing the necessary materials or just Lo alone! Overall, it's a very nice card!

Put 3.

Sauravis, Dragon Sage of the Voiceless Voice

At first glance, the summoning condition is quite stiff considering you have to return 2 Spells including 1 Ritual Spell from your hand/GY back to your Deck. If you start the combo with "Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice" to "Saffira, Dragon Queen of the Voiceless Voice", you would most likely end up with 1 Spell in the GY which is the one you send with Saffira.

One solution I can think of is maximizing non-theme spells in your Deck to feed the summoning requirement of this card. Cards like "Pot of Extravagance", "Pre-Preparation of Rites", "Pot of Prosperity", "Nadir Servant", or a used "Called by the Grave" can satisfy the requirements. Take note that you can also return cards from Hand to deck so if you don't have extra targets in GY, you can use your hand resources. (though not always recommended)

Considering the idea above, "Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice" can search "Sauravis, Dragon Sage of the Voiceless Voice" as part of the one card combo and you can immediately summon this card.

When your opponent activates any card or effect, you can return it back to your hand to special summon "Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended" from deck to your field which puts the threat of an inherent special summon negation and banishing. The more spells you can recycle from GY, the better chance "Sauravis, the Sagely Silenforcer Dragon" can be abused.

Put 1 as you most of the time, you would want your copy in your deck instead.

Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice

The retrain of the good 'ol Law Guardian also known as Skull Guardian. From the name itself, it protects you from any card or effects as it has an ability to negate any and destroy them once per turn so long as you have "Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice". A negate is always welcome aboard!

Its 2050 stats can become 4100 (bigger than Obelisk the Tormentor lmao) while you have "Lo, Prayers of the Voiceless Voice on your field or GY. This stats can beat almost any of the common boss monsters in the game including a 4000 ATK unaffected "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister".

It also has a bonus effect of searching any "Voiceless Voice" monster or 1 LIGHT Dragon or Warrior ritual monster from your Deck to your hand. Your ideal search is either of the two Sauravis or even "Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon" for that extra Spell negate. It's a decent boss monster I must say.

2-3 copies. 2 copies so that you still have something to end in case it gets banished.

Prayers of the Voiceless Voice

This ritual spell has the typical ritual summon effect found in "Sprite's Blessing". What makes this card extra special is its GY effect. This ritual spell is your go to card to send from "Saffira, Dragon Queen of the Voiceless Voice".

When your LIGHT Ritual monster leaves the field by your opponent's card effect, you can summon any of the three rituals (Sauravis, Saffira, and Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice) from hand or deck ignoring the summoning condition. Since "Barrier of the Voiceless Goice" only protects your monsters from targeting effects, your monsters are prone to mass or non targeting card effect removals post negation.

The GY effect ensures you can replace the removed monster. Sadly, it has to be from an opponent's card EFFECT which means a Lava Golem and Kaiju will still ruin your set-up so pray to Lo that your opponent doesn't have them! :D

Add 2.

Barrier of the Voiceless Voice

Ah, another card from the theme that almost looks like a custom card with how good it was designed. Its first effect serves as a protection to your LIGHT monsters so long as you control "Lo, the Prayers of the Voiceless Voice" and a LIGHT ritual monster. It is your go-to combo piece to search from Lo and can also protect Lo from being targeted by basic attacks!

Its second effect can net you +1 by searching any "Voiceless Voice" card or "Skull Guardian" ritual monster from your deck to your hand. It is such a strong effect that can either lead to your combo or bait your opponent's removals or negation. It's also a nice way to protect you from those "Rescue Ace" Traps and monster effects!

Add 3.

Radiance of the Voiceless Voice

The sole trap of the theme on its initial reveal. It is also a slower consistency piece that can either recycle or fix your hand by searching a needed "Voiceless Voice" piece from your deck or Special summon it right away. It is your secondary search from Lo or Barrier. Its second effect acts as a quick effect free removal which is not bad.

1 copy. I feel 2 can be handy at times to ensure you aren't afraid of losing it when you use its effect to destroy cards.

Summary:

Overall, I must say that this new theme in PHNI didn't disappoint. It has almost all the elements of a good deck in OCG and TCG which has a one card combo line, has consistency, and isn't a maxx "C" or "Nibiru" magnet.

Its playstyle is almost as good as when "Gishki"  as revealed in PHHY though I must say that "Voiceless Voice" is a lot better and scarier in my opinion at first glance. What do you think of the new "Voiceless Voice" theme?
