"Behind the Phantom Shadows"-Single Card Discussion featuring "Phantom Knight Shadow Veil"

(ArcKnight)" Lurking in the shadows of the deepest slots of our binders and deck boxes,is an unwanted and unappreciated card by many. The great overlord of the shadows appointed me to share this knowledge to all mere mortals of dueling community.Let's spread the veil!"

Good Day RespectYGOer! I'm back, your favorite 101! Bringing you another card that may pinch your interest somehow again.Today,I'm going to discuss a card that is worth noticing.(At least for me).Well, allow me to introduce you the "Phantom Knights Shadow Veil"

Phantom Knights Of Shadow Veil(NECH-072 Common)
Normal Trap Card
Target 1 face-up monster you control; it gains 300 ATK and DEF. When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack while this card is in your Graveyard: Special Summon this card in Defense Position as a Normal Monster (Warrior-Type/DARK/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 300). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field.

-First,we have a very common trap card that acts as a monster and a Stat boost. At the first look,it may seem lackluster but if you look closer, there is some pretty cool combos that you can incorporate with this card.

Here are few things you don't (or haven't been yet) know about this card:

1.It's Special summon effect isn't ONCE PER TURN.In other words,if you have multiples of this card, you can special summon all THREE in the form of chain.(And since this is a mandatory SS effect,it doesn't miss the timing EVER.

2.This card becomes a NORMAL MONSTER card.Unlike previous trap monster,it retains its monster Status.Hence,it can't be destroyed by backrow removals.(e.g Heavy Storm,MST etc.)

3.And since this card is a monster card while on your monster card zone, you can use it as free xyz materials.(Its a Dark Warrior level 4 people!)

4.To abuse this card, you can use Imperial Iron Wall,Artifact Lancea and other cards that prevent banishing. In other words,if you prevent the banishing of this card, you can hinder all attacks of your opponent.

"Are you willing to take the Risk?"-Single Card Discussion featuring "Cyber Stein"

(Arc Knight) Hello! Time for some interesting article.Today,I am going to tackle about a card that has recently been released from the banlist and returned to its unlimited status.Without further ado,I present to you "Cyber Stein"

Cyber Stein
Dark/Machine/2
700/500
Pay 5000 Life Points. Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck to the field in Attack Position.

At first, this card is a very strong card until you realized that you need to pay a measly 5000 life points and leave a weak 700 attacker behind.Well, your probably right but the great thing here is the monster you will summon by its effect and that makes him great.
This monster is also prone to negation(Effect Veiler,Breakthrough Skill,Fiendish Chain) so be warned.

Here are some of the monsters you can summon with this card:

 Naturia Extrio

-This beast negates every Spell and trap card as long as it stays. That means no Qliphort tool,Necloth rituals etc. This practically end games if you manage to protect your life points due to stein.

 Last Warrior from another Planet

-Use Stein to summon a monster that destroys your stein so you won't be open for heavy damage at the same time, prevents any kind of summon!(Though players may still normal set). You know what that means.

Overall, this card is very great if you can use it correctly.
I just wanted to ask you a question. Are you willing to take the risk?

Nerfed-Shaddol-Single Card Discussion

(Arcknight) Hello RespectYGOer! In this article,we will talk about the new "Shaddol" cars in "The Secrets of Eternity" that has just been recently released.Without further ado, here are the cards!

SECE-JP047 エルシャドール・ウェンディゴ (El-Shaddoll Wendigo) (Super Rare)
Lv. 6/WIND/Psychic-Type/Fusion/Effect
1 “Shaddoll” monster + 1 WIND monster
This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck except by Fusion Summon. The (1) effect of “El-Shaddoll Wendigo” can only be used once per turn. (1): Target 1 monster you control. Until the end of this turn, the target cannot be destroyed by battle with an opponent’s Special Summoned monster. This effect can also be activated on your opponent’s turn. (2): When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can target 1 “Shaddoll” Spell/Trap card in your Graveyard. Return that card to your hand.
ATK 200/DEF 2800

-Finally,we have our WIND shaddol fusion monster.Sadly, its effects are not like her other Shaddol fusion.Being protected from being destroyed by battle seemslackluster nowadays considering there are many loopholes floating around such as 101,castel,plover etc.The only good thing I see on this card was that it is another target for Super Polymerization just in case you have a WIND match and offcourse, the artwork is cool considering it is a Shaddol version of Petolphin fusion. It is a decent card but not that great of a card(If you know what I'm saying.

SECE-JP059 魂写しの同化 (Neph-Shaddoll Fusion)
Equip Spell
This card can only be equipped to a “Shaddoll” monster. You can only activate the (2) effect of “Neph-Shaddoll Fusion” once per turn. (1): Declare 1 Attribute. The equipped monster becomes the declared Attribute. (2): You can only activate this effect during your Main Phase. Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by sending the Fusion Material Monsters listed on that Fusion Monster from your hand or Field to the Graveyard, and this includes the equipped monster.

Secondly,we received a new Shadoll Fusion spell card. The great thing about this card is you don't need to splash other attribute monster so you can Fusion your Egrystal,Shekhinaga and Construct(or maybe wendigo). It changes attribute and fuses the monster which is good.Overall, this is a great card to add to our shaddoll deck.

On our next article,we will post different build in accordance with Shaddols.Stay tune!

(RespectYGOcardOFtheDay) "Shining Shimmering Purple Centaur" and the decks you can use it with-"Shinki Saintorea" card discussion

(ArcKnight) Hey! Arc is back! Today,I am going to feature a new card on "The Secrets of Eternity" booster pack(SECE) that is bound to be released next week!

Set 904 will give us another reason to love our rank 2 based decks(or whatever deck that can make rank 2s).This time,Konami brought us a new Flying centaur that everyone will surely love!
Here is the card:

SECE-JP052
Shinki Saintorea
Light/Beast-Warrior / Xyz / Effect
RK2 2000/0
2 Level 2 monsters
(1) This card with Xyz Materials cannot be destroyed by battle. (2) At the end of the damage step that this card battled an opponent’s monster: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; return that opponent’s monster to the hand.

Oh! This is a sweet 2000 attacker that can bounce a monster?
What else can you ask for?And besides, this is the first 2k attacker rank 2 monster and we don't have that much.Looking closer, this monster is indestructible by battle.Meaning, you can battle your opponent's monster on your turn then you can now remove a threat like "Evilswarm Ophion".This is also one of the strongest rank 2 monster that is not only focused on pure offense but also on defense!

Here are some of the decks that you can splash "Shinki Saintorea"

1.)Frog Monarch
"Des Croaking this 2014"
Frog monarch is a popular deck way back 2008 and one of the top picks of usual players on a budget because of its versatility and surprise factor. Before, the focus of this deck is to farm your "Treeborn Frogs" and "Ronintoadin" then tributing them to summon the very powerful "Monarchs" such as "Caius, the Shadow Monarch" and "Raiza, the Storm Monarch".Now,even without your "Monarchs",you can make an offensive move by using "Shinki Saintorea".You can use your "Swap Frogs" and "Ronintoadin" as the main materials for this xyz monster. This new xyz monster will serve as another boss monster for this deck.

2.)Baby Raccoons

Did you miss them? Or should I say,"Did you ever played Raccoons before?" .Do you want to turn your baby raccoons into beastly flying centaurs? Oh yes! definitely! With the advent of "Obedience Schooled" and "Valeryfrown, the Mythical Beast of the Forest",you can get your engine going faster. With "Shinki Saintorea", you are now entitled to have your monster removal after establishing your "Sandayu,Beast lock".Just be warned, you cannot special summon "Shinki Saintorea" after you use the effect of "Obedience Schooled" because it only allows you to summon "Beast" monsters the turn you used it so you better use your spent "Tantan, the Baby Raccoon" or "Ponpoko, the Baby Raccoon" so you can summon Saintorea.

3.)Prophecy

"Hey! I have a magical idea!" -Spellbook Magician of Prophecy

Your favorite spellcaster deck has a new toy to play with! Sometimes, you opt to use your "Spellbook of Fate" to eliminate your opponent's pesky monster that is hindering your play and with only "Spellbook Magician of Prophecy" sitting on your field doing magic tricks, you are susceptible to attacks therefore you are prone to heavy damage. Now,you can overlay your spent Spellbook Magicians to summon a monster that cannot be destroyed by battle at the same time and bounce an opposing monster. This is a good counter vs. Thunder king Rai-oh or Big beaters. But before you make your shinka plays,be warned because it is a beast-warrior and not a spellcaster monster.Still,it is a good card to pile on your extra deck.

4.)Malicevorous

"Now we have something to cook"-Malicevorous

Oh! Malicevorous! Our master "Dark Mist" would be so proud! Have you ever thought about them? Honestly? Well, let me just remind you.Malicevorous is a Fiend-type archetype composed of all level 2 monsters that can swarm using their effects. Before, their main focus is to summon "Number 96:Dark Mist","Gachi-Gachi-Gantentsu" and other know rank 2s.Today,they can now do some killing.(using their knives?).Interesting deck to use our powerful xyz!

And last but not the least!

5.)Agent Fairies
credits to Fanboygaming.com for the photo
There's a new reason to pay 500.Your "Mystical Shining Balls" and "Agent of Mystery-Earth" can now be utilized to produce this new rank 2 xyz monster.Other than "Master Hyperion",they don't have other sources of monster removal in a form of monster card. Now,they can summon "Shinka Saintorea" if their "Hyperion" plays fails.

Nonetheless, this card deserve some love due to the usefulness of this card.Definitely it is a card worth using.Actually when I saw the art of this card,I have a feeling that they will make a "Shinka" archetype.Isn't it cool to have a deck full of different colored flying centaurs? for me it's amazing and whoever conceptualized this card is eloquent!
Stay tune for more exciting news and reviews about the game we love!
Together,let's all RespectYGO!!

"Diamond Overdose"-Single card discussion

(J.)I just wanted to share this info.It is one of the most OP Koa'ki Meiru card.It is the Koa'ki Meiru who holds the Diamond core of the Koa'ki Meiru!
Please welcome! the badass "Koa'ki Meiru Overdose!

During each of your End Phases, destroy this card unless you send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from your hand to the Graveyard or reveal 1 Rock-Type monster in your hand. During either player's turn, when your opponent would Summon a monster(s): You can Tribute this card; negate the Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s).
So basically,it is an instant summon negator for inherent summons such as normal, tribute, pendulumand inherent special summoned cards! What's cool about the card is the artwork because as you can see in the middle chest of the monster card, you can see the "Diamond core!"

It searches the whole koa'ki meiru family! What else can you ask for?

Overall, the new card is cool and seems like the Rock stun factor is now complete!
I'm looking forward to the success of this card though Necloths and the other tribe force stuffs looks more promising.

This card comes out on "The Secret of Evolution" that will be released in Japan on November 15,2014!

Stay Tune for more exciting infos!

Card Reasoning for the card "Reasoning"-Single Card Discussion

(Kaz) Good Day!113 Days to go before Christmasand guess what?25 days to go before the October 2014 Banlist.Seems like christmas, everyone is already been discussing few of their predictions for the upcoming banlist where hate post about their most hated cards arises. My new article for today is about a card that has been Limited for a few long years but is now free from the sealing chain of the forbidden list. The card I am talking about is "Reasoning".For those who don't know what this card does, here is the full effect:
"I choose you!"(using Ash voice from Pokemon)
Reasoning
Normal Spell Card
Card Effect:
Your opponent declares a monster LevelExcavate cards from the top of your Deck until you excavate a monster that can beNormal Summoned/Set. If that monster is the same Level as the one declared by your opponent, send all excavated cards to theGraveyard. If not, Special Summon the excavated monster, also send the remaining cards to the Graveyard.

What makes this card amazing?
  • First,it acts a generic searcher for all monster cards(provided that the opponent chose the wrong level and the monster excavated is not a nomi
  • Second,It can trigger monsters that has a trigger effects whenever it is special summoned
  • Third,It's a one for one.Meaning you do not lose card advantage(Still provided that your opponent picked the wrong level that your monsters has
  • Fourth,If there is a point that your opponent might declare the right level,it acts as a lucky-based foolish burial.
  • Last,Old cards are cool.:)
What are the decks that can benefit with this card?
  1. Melodious-Here is our first candidate. It is an archetype that involves about special summoning. In simpler term,it doesn't do anything if "Melodious" monsters aren't special summoned. This card can be a great help for them because it special summons. It has a high chance that you can special summon a "Melodious" because their levels vary from 3-8
  1. Ice Barrier-One of the member of the south water tribe Duel terminal. It receives a massive support on Photon Shockwave which was named "Prior of the Ice Barrier" and the plays that this deck makes involves using Prior everyday. But the biggest problem is that aside from their theme searcher "Medallion of the Ice Barrier",there is no other card or if so,few cards can only search those prior or moreover, the requirement of ice barrier to have another Ice Barrier face up.Good thing Reasoning can aid that.Like Melodious,Ice barrier does have different levels on the monsters part, they can also fully utilize the power of Reasoning.
  1. Spellbooks-Not only it can aid on maintaining a face up Spell caster-type monster for various Spellbook cards to work out,it can also send excavated Spellbook Spell cards as a huge fuel for Spellbook of Fate to banish cards.
  1. Dragon Rulers-dragon rulers is marked as one of the most annoying and indeed one of the most hammered deck in Yu-Gi-Oh History. In addition,Dragon Ravine which serves as their Search engine has recently been limited.Reasoning can help on summoning those dragons for no cost and since dragon Rulers has little to no number of level 4 monsters which the opponent might always declare for reasoning's effect, this deck has a great potential for using "Reasoning"
  1. Chaos Dragons-The Structured deck 22 which includes a reprint of "Reasoning" and yet no one uses it because let's admit at that time that it is overhauled by many stronger cards such as Future Fusion,Future Fusion and Future Fusion. :D Now that Future Fusion is banned and Reasoning is now unlimited(Semi-Limited for TCG for some reason, kindly explain this to me),I think this is the best deck that can use the card "Reasoning" full force! As I have said, once the opponent has luckily declared the right level that your excavated monster has,it proceeds to the graveyard. For Chaos dragon's case, whether the monster is special summoned and sent to the graveyard,it will have it's uses! In the case where your opponent declares level 4,you have a chance of sending Eclipse Wyvern to grave at the same time triggering it's effect! Then if Eclipse wyvern has happened to be special summoned instead, then you can even plus more because you can have field presence or maybe you can use it to summon Rank 4 xyzs.Same applies with Lightpulsar Dragon. Sweet!
  1. Sylvan-Since this card also has the word "Excavate",obviously it is designed as one of the cards that can help in this deck's piloting. If your opponent calls a wrong level, you can summon your Big trees or little plants. If the opponent happens to call the right level which is a very small chance, then you can trigger the effects of your powerful sylvans for no cost and without your normal summon. This is by far one of the most appealing archetypes that can use the card "Reasoning" at full advantage.
While there are many known decks that can benefit from it,offcourse there are some who doesn't and do not have a synergy to start with.
  1. Satellarknights-While satellarknights trigger their effects in any method of summoning(aside from ritual and fusion off course),it is very common that the opponent calls level 4 because it is one of the common levels in every deck.It so happens that all satellarknight monster level is 4 so you might end up just sending your knights which Mathematician and Unukalhai already does.
  1. Evilswarm-Same as above.
  1. Fire Fist-Same as above
  1. Rock Stun-most are level 4
  1. Geargia-Really,it doesn't help.
  1. Gadgets-definitely not.

There you have it, while reasoning has many pros and cons in a certain deck, there are some other decks that doesn't benefit from it.Still,it is a widely known card but yet forgotten due to the luck factor and popularity of other cards but who knows, this card might be the key to speed up your cool decks! See you next time for more exciting articles!-Kazuhiko

A Chaotic Battle:Shadoll Vs. Tellaknight format Discussion

Welcome duelists!

I am Kazuhiko Takashi( Not the creator itself,Mr. Kazuki Takahashi).I one of the new writers of RespectYGO:the game we love .For my very first article,I would like to share my thoughts about the two infamous decks that literally shines this format.(Yes,they literally shines for some reason.)

Who are they?

I'm talking about these two decks namely Shadoll and Tellaknights. There's no doubt that these two decks brought chaos literally to some players.(I'm saying this because other duelist lose all their hopes and dreams when they are about to compete with these decks, well not exactly their dreams though that's insane :D )
In other terms, people tend to side heavily for these decks.Early April, the meta consists mostly of Shadoll but with the recently held World Championship Qualifier, people discover some light on Tellaknights.

Reasons why these decks are extremely a Popular Choice :

Shadoll:With extremely powerful effects ranging from monster destruction, monster revival, and search power, there is no doubt that Shadoll is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Not only that, they also have the ever powerful Shadoll Fusion in their arsenal as well as the well-known El-Shadoll Midrash and El-Shadoll Nephilim. Many people mentioned that this deck resembles similarly as the good ol' Evilswarms but I think Shadolls can create a mark in the history in the future years as one of the greatest decks in terms of control.
Budget wise, while many people claim that they are quite expensive because of their rarities, well I can call it one of the balancing tactics of Konami.Well at least they can get the most out of their investment because its definitely worth investing right?

Overall,Shadoll is extremely one of the best choice if you want to have a competitive meta deck this July format adding the fact that they will surely get a boost for the upcoming The Next Challengers(NECH) booster pack.Exciting!

Tellaknights:Next up is one of the so called "Rogue deck" at the start of April ban list but later on received some appreciation in tandem with the Star Seraph "Brothers" namely Star Seraph Scepter and Star Seraph Sovereign(Well I'm not exactly sure if whose the male or the female or if they have a gender LOL).

Tellaknights are known for its great consistency and together with Star Seraphs, they'll surely be the great contender this format.
Budget wise,it is definitely cheaper to build than Shadolls considering their low rarities aside from Satellaknight Delteros which is an Ultra.
Many people started to shift their gears to tellaknights and the latest OCG WCQ is definitely a great influence.Overall,I consider this deck a Tier 1 potential and I'm really sure that it can go along way with new support cards from The Next Challengers(NECH) to be released on July 19 in OCG.

To sum up,both of these decks definitely shows a great impression for many players. For players who wanted to start competitively,I highly suggest to try one of these.
In less than two weeks,a new booster pack will rise and I'm sure old and new decks will come across their way.But with these choices which is very solid like a rock,I'm pretty convinced that they can dominate future formats and to an extent, players will experienced a world of pain with Tellaknight and Shadolls, having a Chaotic Battle!!!!

Just Sayin...
Til next time!
