In the advent of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, your imagination (and patience) is your limit: Imagination as you can build whatever deck you desire and patience as you grind for gems so you can buy packs and get random URs and SRs which you can dismantle to generate almost any card that exists in Master Duel database. None of these can happen in real life but while we couldn't dismantle our card stashes and absolutely get any card we need, we can make these accessible. As a duelist on a budget myself, it's music in the ears when you hear the word REPRINT. Why though? Let's get started.
Reprints are normally anticipated in almost any new product/box except main boxes. We can expect reprints if they are related to an archetype or it's long overdue. Some take months, others take years, many don't even see the light. While some of the cards reprinted immediately loses a bulk of its value due to high supply with less demand, there are also some who needs multiple reprints in order to have the same effect. There are also cards which took ages before they get reprinted while some may have been forgotten by time.
In this article, we have listed the top 7 cards that should get a reprint ASAP and the reasons why. (To make this world, a better place)
The fusion enabler. The inevitable snake that people hate and love. Predaplant Verte Anaconda which was released in Link Vrains Pack 3 on November 23rd, 2019 in OCG shined first during Red-Eyes Dragoon format. It regained its crown when Destiny Hero Destroy Phoenix Enforcer and Branded Fusion got released in 2021 and it is definitely a must-have extra deck staple. It avoided both the banhammer and the reprint roster in several years. Is it time to breed this green serpent or will it reach the shadow realm first?
Ah! The XYZ boss. It definitely deserves its majestic name. Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus-Sky Thunder is a must-have if you deck can play an XYZ. This card alone can turn the tides of the game in an instant making it the sole-survivor of a hopeless field. This card was released in Phantom Rage on August 8th, 2020 and while it's only over a year from now, we can still feel its impact when we play an XYZ centric deck and we don't have Zeus. It is definitely a good candidate for a reprint or maybe it's too early for it?
3. Forbidden Droplet
We saw how this card turned from abundance to extinction. Released on April 18 2020 in Rise of the Duelist, we witnessed the birth of the newest staple spell. This card's versatility almost made Dark Ruler No More obsolete due to it being a chainable spell either player's turn. Just one forbidden ask: can this be reprinted already?
4. Pot of Prosperity
Claimed now as the second best 'Pot' card after Pot of Greed, Pot of Prosperity which was released in Blazing Vortex on October 31, 2020, remains to be one of the cards only prosperous individuals can buy. The searching capability of this card is quite insane being able to dig the top 3 or 6 cards of your deck at a cost banishing 3 or 6 extra deck cards of your choice and making LP damage to your opponent half for the rest of the turn. This card is used in wide variety of decks especially those who lack or requires more speed. Will we have a chance to get our hands on this precious Pot or the banhammer will get us more copies (Pot of Desires feels?)
5. Baronne De Fleur
I know, it's quite early for this but seriously, Baronne De Fleur has been one of the epitome of this era where Synchro shines. Released in OCG on August 25th, 2021 in Duelist Pack: Duelist of Whirlwind, we would have wish we are able to obtain as many copies as we can before Swordsoul arrives. One thing is for sure, we should always keep our eyes on cards that negate.
6. Dimensional Shifter
Released in Extra Pack 2019 on September 14, 2019, Dimensional Shifter is one of your friends you took for granted until you realize that you actually need him but it's too late. (Sad regret noises). It's one of those hand-traps that can shut the entire turn when used against the right deck and can also potentially lead to a dead card late game. This card shines best in Floowandereeze and other non-graveyard reliant decks.
7. Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
This actually deserves a yearly reprint like literally at least in every Structured Deck (if that's okay to ask). This is a must-have when building almost any deck and definitely one of the strongest hand-trap currently. More reprints of this card will surely encourage more people to easily build their deck competitively.
Summary:
Believe in the heart of the cards as they say as we never know how useful a card will be in the future. Some may seem to be not useful at the moment but 1-3 years from now, it could be the same card that you wish you could have kept in the beginning. Always find the value in every card that you have no matter what rarity it is for it could be the same card others are wishing to have.
